Data Conversion

JWS Software has extensive experience in converting data from other systems. Since 1989 JWS has converted more than 100 systems from more than 40 source databases. Our knowledge of database structures and claim data relationships is incomparable in the industry.

The process of converting data involves strict testing methods and rigid standards as to the accuracy of the data, relative to the source data. We work with our clients to make sure that the data are not only correct and valid but also complete and indisputable, before they go live with The System.

Our conversion team average over 11 years of experience in converting data from different sources into The System’s database.

JWS’ approach is to initially receive the data from the client’s existing system shortly after contract execution. Data is mapped from the existing database to The System and a conversion script is developed. After the initial conversion, the software is loaded (with the converted data) in the client’s environment.

Clients typically dedicate a few resources for early system training so as to assist in the testing of the data for accuracy. JWS account managers function as a liaison between the clients testing group and the JWS data conversion specialist to assist in communicating any required changes in the data conversion program that need to be implemented for the final data conversion pull. This would include (if applicable) suggesting testing approaches that may include report balancing, etc.

After incorporating all the changes documented from the initial conversion along with verifying applicable report balances, the client will submit the final data pull and shut down their existing system. JWS will run the final conversion routine and provide the final pull of data to the client. The final conversion is loaded and the client moves into production.
